Welcome to iTalk ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use the iTalk application.

2. Your Data Stays on Your Device

iTalk is designed with a local-first approach. The vast majority of your data — including translation history, favorites, language preferences, and app settings — is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to this data, and it is never uploaded to our servers.

You can clear your translation history and all locally stored data at any time from the Settings screen within the app.

3. Information We Process

Voice Input: When you use voice translation, your speech is processed in real-time to convert it to text. Voice recordings are not stored on our servers and are discarded immediately after processing.

Camera & Images: When you use camera translation, images are processed on your device using on-device machine learning models (Google ML Kit). Images are not uploaded to external servers unless the AI-powered translation mode is actively selected, in which case image data is sent to the translation API solely for the purpose of extracting and translating text, and is not retained.

Text Input: Text you enter for translation may be sent to our AI translation service to provide results. We do not log or store the content of your translations on our servers.

Anonymous Authentication: iTalk creates an anonymous account via Firebase Authentication to enable core functionality. This does not collect any personally identifiable information such as your name, email, or phone number.

Device Information: We may collect basic, non-identifying device information (device model, OS version, app version) solely for crash reporting and performance improvement.

All payment transactions are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect, store, or have access to your payment details (credit card numbers, billing address, etc.). Subscription status is managed through RevenueCat, which communicates with the respective app stores on our behalf.

We may send push notifications for trial reminders or important updates. You can disable notifications at any time through your device's system settings.
